Favorites: Japanese Style Bake Mussels

I love Japenese-style baked mussels. They're a tad sweet, full of flavor, and if flavored right, are very addictive. Instead of waiting for a time to make it to one of our favorite sushi restaurants, I decided to create a recipe that's similar. Now I make Japanese style baked mussels whenever I want to.

All About Jackfruit

If you've been in the produce section of an Asian market, chances are you've seen a jackfruit. It is sold whole, or conveniently cut up. If you've seen it whole, it is a very large and heavy fruit with bumpy skin, in either a green or yellowish color.

It is often easier and more productive if seeds are started in a seed starter tray, then transplanted outdoors when conditions are right for the seedlings. San Diego Events: Firefire's Chili Cook Off June 11, 2011

This Saturday, there is the 31st Annual MDA Padres Tailgate and Firefighter Chili Cook-Off - benefiting the MDA, the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The event will be held at the Embarcadero Park South in Downtown San Diego. The tailgate party is from 12-4 PM, just before the San Diego Padres vs. Washington Nationals baseball game. According to the Union Tribune, over 22 area fire departments will be participating, so support your local fire department by rooting them on.

The MDA San Diego has a facebook page, and they are calling for volunteers to help with grilling, clean up, chili booths, serving, etc. If you want to help:
